Can I wear makeup after the procedure?

No makeup should be worn on the lips immediately after or for 7 days after the service.

Do I choose my color?

Colour choice is selected together, by yourself and Yasmine. Bringing in photos of styles you like or even a favourite lipstick is great as we can get and idea of what you are aiming for. The colour that is tattooed is not what your final result will be. With your trust, we can get you to your goals and help you decide what will be best for you when it comes to this treatment.

How long does lip blushing last?

This treatment lasts 2-4 years.
It can be maintained with annual refresh sessions.

Each year the tattoo shade will get lighter and lighter until your natural lip tissue is restored to its natural tissue.

Some factors like your age, level of physical activity, metabolism and sun exposure can affect how long the color lasts.

In some lip neutralizing cases the tattoo has lasted 2-7 years before entirely wearing out.

Will I be in a lot of pain when receiving lip tattooing?

Not at all! The pain is very mild and controlled by numbing agents from start to finish. We set a very relaxing atmosphere and a lot of our clients fall asleep during the procedure and say they feel almost no pain!

What happens at your appointment:

  • BEGINNING

    Thorough consultation to ensure you are happy with the colour choice and the lip design. The pre and post care instructions will be provided to you ensuring you feel comfortable with everything.

    Your appointment goes for 2.5-3 hours in the office. This time includes consultation, paper work, proper numbing, procedure, aftercare instructions and images.

  • DURING

    The shape of your lip will be drawn and we will adjust the shape to be as perfect, full and symmetrical as possible.

    Colour choice discussed and what we recommend to suit your skin, natural colour and shape.

    A highly-effective, topical anesthetic is used for numbing before and during your procedure.

  • RESULTS

    Your lips will look very intense. Usually, the scab will peel off after 3-6 days.
    During this time, the color may look quite pale, the blended lip liner will show more color.
    Be patient at this time until the skin matures which will take about 1-2 months until you can see the final result.

Pre-Care Instructions

  • Keep lips moisturised and stay hydrated
  • 3 days prior to your appointment exfoliate twice a day
  • Add a lip balm to your daily routine (we love the Medik8 Mutiny)
  • If you suffer from cold sores, take the antiviral medication 2 days prior to your appointment
  • Fillers need to be done 4 weeks prior to or after lip blush
  • If you are on antibiotics, the last dose must be taken 2 months prior to your lip brush procedure
  • Eat prior to your appointment as the the procedure takes up to 2.5 hours

DO NOT:

  • Take any blood thinning medications at least one week before your appointment
  • Wear lipstick prior to your appointment
  • Use Vitamin C serums and Retinoids for at least 2 weeks
  • Have alcohol and caffeine the night before and on the day of your appointment

Post-Care Instructions

  • Apply an antiseptic cream such as Bepanthem daily to help keep your lips moisturised and avoid infections
  • Drink with a straw for the first 2-3 days
  • After each meal, clean your lips with saline solution (0.9%)
  • Be super gentle when brushing your teeth and eating
  • Avoid the lip area when cleansing your face
  • If you suffer from cold sores, take the antiviral medication 3 days after your appointment

DO NOT:

  • Kiss (Sorry!)
  • Eat any salty, hot or spicy food for a week
  • Wear lipstick for up to 3 weeks
  • Have very hot showers as the steam can also lead to poor pigment retention
  • Go directly into the sun
